I love the way these Cinnamon fern, which was started from 5 plants, has colonized into a small stand . Besides looking good, it is deer resistant and is doing a great job of competing with garlic mustard. In fact, as it slowly spreads, it takes over areas that Garlic Mustard once occupied without any problem. These ferns are planted under Norway Spruces that have been pruned up. As you can see around the edges, weeds are present but interestingly, the planting is mostly weed free.
