Formal Vegetable Garden

Formal Vegetable Garden

The newest project at our property is a formal vegetable garden. Our previous vegetable garden, at 30’x40′, proved too large for our busy lifestyles. This new garden is being built in the previous location of our playground. The garden will eventually contain ten 4’x4′ corten steel raised planters. I still have to place four more beds, remove the timber edging, install steel edging, finish the drip irrigation and eventually install a more permanent fence. That being said, it’s never too early to start growing vegetables. The raised planters look great but are definitely small for squash, zucchini and melons so we’ll be adding an in-ground growing area for the veggies that need more real estate. It’s still a work in progress. Should be great once finished. Where do you grow your vegetables?
