We are getting more calls from people wanting to enhance their large grass meadows with flowers. Here is a project we recently completed in Woodbury. The meadow is a little over 2 acres. In this first phase, we planted approx. 500 native and non native ornamental grasses and perennials in two different areas, a lower wet area and a higher, somewhat drier part of the meadow with clay soil. We don’t have a long history with this type of work. The meadow work we’ve done in the past was always started by seed. It will be interesting how these plants fill in over time and compete with the surrounding grass over the long haul. We will see.
