We’ve been in the landscape industry for a while. Over that time, we’ve definitely created some confusion with the services we offer. It is true that we offer only three main services; landscape design services, landscape installations and garden maintenance/detailing/garden care. Where these service offerings cause some confusion is that we have never offered landscape design services without a landscape installation project and we have never maintained a garden we didn’t create. We have a lot of people call us because they are just looking for a landscape design. Although we have made some changes to our service offerings a couple seasons ago, we still don’t offer landscape services to the DIYer or for people who have their own ‘guy’. Although going through the process of creating a landscape design is a planning tool that will help provide a successful landscape or at least minimize poor decisions. A landscape design will help flush out problems before they become expensive, it is not an absolute thing. A lot of our landscape success happens in the field. I make changes in the field all the time because I see a flaw or I see a better solution. This comes with decades of experience. This is one of the reasons we like to control both the design and installation process and why we just don’t offer our landscape design services to the general public.
The one area where we have changed our service offerings is with garden maintenance. I’m excited to say that we will now consider maintaining a garden we didn’t install under the right circumstances. Why the change of direction? As I’ve aged through the Green Industry, I’ve been slowly changing the focus of our company from a landscape design and installation company to a garden maintenance oriented company is to create a less stressful, less chaotic life for myself. When we are doing landscape design and installation projects, all of the sales, estimating, landscape design, planning and material procurement falls on my shoulders. It’s a lot of pressure! Also, as I mentioned above, lot of the success of our projects happens with decisions I make in the field when we go off script. Because of this, when we’re installing gardens, I’m on site the majority of the time. Moving our business more towards garden maintenance makes sense for me when you consider a less stressful life. Garden maintenance provides recurring income, on properties we are on regularly and have extensive knowledge of its seasonal needs so it takes less of time time

Although we are still taking on landscape design and installation projects, we don’t have the time for large projects anymore unless they are broken down into many smaller phases over time. Most of our ideal clients these days revolve around maintenance and garden upgrades. Most properties we are on weekly or multiple times a month. We do manage a garden that involves 2-3 horticulturists, multiple times a week.
If you have a small landscape project, a larger project that can be broken up into multiple smaller projects or you’re looking to take your gardens to the next level, we might be a good fit. We have a couple of spots available for the 2024 garden season.
