History

Designing Eden llc is pleased to be celebrating its 30th year in the Green Industry under the direction and leadership of Richard Schipul.

Designing Eden started as a landscape maintenance business in Trumbull, Connecticut.  As the demand for services expanded, Richard perceived a need for environmentally sensitive landscape design and development.  Trained as a horticulturist and landscape architect, Richard and Designing Eden decided to move into the planning and construction part of the industry, specializing in landscapes for historic houses.

In 1995, we purchased a 10 acre farm in New Milford.  Upon renovating the barn and carriage house, our headquarters includes a design studio, growing fields were we grow unique, as well as more common plants and display gardens in a living laboratory/horticultural showplace to excite the senses.

Designing Eden approaches each project with a commitment to excellence.  Richard’s involvement throughout each project ensures proper management and quality.  Richard is continually developing new ideas to provide innovative design solutions, while providing the latest professional standards in our work.  We creatively meet the requirements of our client’s needs, while recognizing the practical aspects of time and budgets.
