As summer comes winds down, it will soon be time to start thinking about the fall garden. After the first frost, we will pull out our summer annuals and soon after that, we will start to plant our fall annuals. Some of those plants will be planted in containers so as I start planning for the fall garden, I thought I would post some ideas and pictures of previous fall containers. Unlike the wide range of annuals available for the summer landscape, fall has a much more limited palette. The main annual plants for fall containers are Mums, Asters, Kales and Cabbages. Let’s take a lot at some of the containers we’ve planted in previous years.

Annuals add that extra aesthetic punch a lot of gardens need, especially in the fall when the rest of the garden is fading. If you don’t plant fall annuals, give them a try.
